Sharise Hemby-Nance grew up in the Homewood/East Liberty section of Pittsburgh PA and is an alumnus of George Westinghouse High School. Mrs. Nance has over 15 years of experience in the helping profession. Mrs. Nance holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work and is a Pennsylvania Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Mrs. Nance was always interested in the human mind as well as the impact our relationships and environments has on our lives. She always knew she wanted to make a career out of helping people in some capacity.

Throughout her tenure in the social services profession, she noticed a trend of individuals struggling to advocate for themselves. This trend allowed her to fulfill her purpose of being a servant leader in the community by assisting individuals in using their voices. Mrs. Nance is the co-owner and co-founder of HandinHand Counseling Services, LLC; a private counseling practice dedicated to promoting HOPE, HEALTH, and HEALING to individuals and families dealing with generational and situational obstacles. Sharise is also the founder of VitaminCHealing, an organization that supports helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and caregivers. VitaminChealing has developed a workshop curriculum to decrease self-care neglect, and burn-out while committing to work life balance. Our one-to-one coaching and facility workshops have been proven to 1. Renew and revive our participants 2. Increase life fulfillment and satisfaction 3. Enhanced overall care and delivery of services to their program participants.

Sharise is the award winning author of Vitamin C Healing for the Mind Body and Soul http://www.theauthorszone.com/2014-taz-winners/ and has been nominated as a finalist for the 2017 Indie Author Legacy Awards http://indieauthorlegacyawards.com/winners/. Her second book, Walking the Tight Rope of Life: Refuel. Renew. Re-Center Your Work-Life Demands was published April 1, 2017. She has worked with a diverse population of children, families, adults and couples. Her areas of specialization include Trauma healing and recovery, relationship building, self-confidence building, depression, anxiety, work-life balance and family systems. She has presented keynotes, workshops and seminars nationally for young professionals, entrepreneurs, parents and adolescents. Sharise resides in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband William Nance.

See what people are saying about us
"Sharise is by far one of the most humble, welcoming, and clinically-grounded mental health professionals that I've ever worked with before. Her ability to take therapeutic information and share it with audiences in an informal and down-to-earth way are second to none.
Our organization called upon Sharise to deliver a workshop on self-care for our participants and she was nothing short of phenomenal. After the engagement, attendees shared how warm and soothing the environment was for them. We understand that the spaces we serve in are only as safe as our facilitators allow them to be; and Sharise ensured that everyone was comfortable that evening.
With that being said, I give Sharise the highest recommendation for her expertise, services, and commitment to helping others through therapy."

Julius A. Boatwright, MSW, LSW – Founder + CEO | Steel Smiling – SteelSmilingPGH.org – “Our Stories Matter”

"I am not a reader, but this book gets right to the point so I stay engaged; Short and to the point which I love.
Some books go on and on and that's when I put it down and never pick it back up."

Antionette Watkins, CPT

"I loved this book. It was short and sweet, which it made it easy to read. As a wife, mother, teacher, writer/blogger, I am able to relate much of what you write about.
My three take-aways:
Self-care- sometimes you have to say yes to yourself and no to everyone else.
Practice what you preach- I loved page 31!
Why? - Remember to always connect with your reason for why you are doing what you are doing by keeping the end goal in mind.
Thank you for writing this motivating and inspiring book!"

Krystal L. Smith, The Renewed Teacher

"Reading the first chapter it made me stop and think, Antionette you do not have to do everything yourself, slow down, ask for help or just say no to some things.
I like the fact that you have a section where you ask questions at the end of each chapter so that we cannot just read, but we will be able to write down things and figure out what we need to change to be able to refuel, renew and re-center our lives.
Also when I read that first chapter, I actually went home that evening and only did one thing instead of tiring myself out and just made a note to self:
One room at a time, One thought at a time, Just one at a time and it will get accomplished.
Strive to be the best I can be with less stress and an attitude that if all is not done in one day.. I still have tomorrow, cause stress kills."

Antionette Watkins, CPT

"Vitamin C Healing for the Mind, Body and Soul really forced me to evaluate my whole self and my emotions on some very personal issues.
I want to thank you for your encouragement and your words.  Thank you again for writing this book."

"Coming here each week is my hour for me. I take care of so many people. I need someone to take care of me and my emotional needs. Sharise does that for me"

"I came to Sharise with my thoughts and emotions all over the place. With her help and insight, I was able to organize them."

"Sharise is an exceptional counselor! Exceptional professionalism and wonderful service. She has provided me with an invaluable service."
