Do you make comfort an objective on your ‘to do’ list? Or, do you embrace opportunities that may take you out of your comfort zone? Spending too much time in our comfort zones can become dangerous territory. It can sabotage our personal and professional development, leaving little to no room for growth. If you desire to become successful and ultimately significant, it behooves you to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. What if I told you that everything you wanted was right outside of your comfort zone. However, this may require huge sacrifices on your part. It will require pushing the limits of your potential. Every professional was once an amateur. Every visionary was ridiculed before they were revered. None of the greats got there by falling prey to the seduction of safety. Remember, if it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you. If you happen to be stuck in your comfort zone, I challenge you to commit to doing at least one thing per week outside of your comfort zone.
Please share your thoughts and experiences with stepping outside of your comfort zone. What inspired you to take this leap? What did you gain? What did you lose?
